One highlight of our Crime and Punishment topic was our visit from PCSO Steph Bacon. She taught the children how to say and write their names using the police phonetic alphabet and explained each part of a police officer’s uniform. Some of the children tried on police uniform before she demonstrated how to flick open a baton, and handed round a pepper spray can. The moment the children most enjoyed was going out to see the police car.Steph showed them the lights in action , sounded the siren (three times in quiet little Blakesley, excellent!) and explained the purpose of all the equipment in the boot.Steph answered hundreds of questions and has promised to return to hold stranger awareness and road safety assemblies for the whole school.
